Individual Therapy online for people in California
IFS Individual Therapy online in California
There are moments when what you have been doing is no longer working.
You may find yourself repeating patterns in relationships, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself and others. You may have a sense that something needs to shift, but you are not sure how to get there.
Therapy offers a space to slow down and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Not just the symptoms, but the deeper patterns, histories, and protective strategies that shape how you move through the world.
My Approach
My work is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and family systems. I am Jessie Rose Cohen, you can call me J. I am an LCSW, IFS Therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area. I offer online therapy to people in California. You can read more about me HERE.
I believe that the ways you have learned to cope make sense. Even the parts of you that feel confusing or get in the way have been working to protect you. In therapy, we take time to get curious about those parts, rather than pushing them away or trying to fix them. This requires a lot of trust and can be a process.
Together, we explore how your past lives in the present, especially in your relationships, and begin to create space for more choice, clarity, and connection.
This is a collaborative process where we work together to help you feel more aligned with yourself and how you want to live.
Areas of Focus
I work with individuals navigating:
Trauma and complex trauma
Relationship patterns and attachment wounds
Identity exploration, including gender and sexuality
Burnout and overwhelm
Parenting and family dynamics
Adoption and belonging
Recovery and sobriety
Grief and life transitions
Acute mental health challenges, including self-harm and suicidality
I have extensive experience working with transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive individuals, as well as those navigating complex family and relational systems.
How Do I know if IFS is a good fit for me?
This work may be a good fit if you are:
Wanting to understand yourself more deeply
Noticing patterns in your relationships that you want to shift
Desire to explore your internal experience, including your thoughts, emotions, and parts
Willing to engage in a process that is reflective, relational, and sometimes challenging
You do not need to have everything figured out to begin.
If you are looking for a space to slow down, reflect, and begin relating to yourself in a different way, I would be glad to connect.
