This is where Holding Spaces Collective comes in.
We build connections for complicated times.
Experiences of trauma, loss, and pain can lead us to abandon parts of ourselves to survive. And what often looks like anxiety, depression, confusion, or fear…is actually a signal.
something inside you is asking to be heard.
I’m Jessie Rose Cohen. Please call me J. I’m an LCSW (CA 21802), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, gender, parenting and trauma specialist, offering intimate online group and individual therapy across California. You can read more about me here.
My work is centered on helping you rebuild a relationship with yourself so that you can feel grounded, confident, and capable while building honest, connected relationships in everyday life.
A different way of healing - What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
For people living in California, I offer small, intimate groups using IFS. I love IFS because it invites you into a compassionate relationship with yourself, all of the parts of yourself, even the ones that feel confusing, critical, or hard to face. Parts that have sabotaged your stability or kept you small.
“What do you mean parts? It’s just me”. I am talking about…
The parts that shut you down
The parts that push people away
The parts that tell you you’re not enough
The parts that hold you back
These parts are not the problem. And they are not “all” of you. We can lose ourselves or difficult experiences can dampen our true spirits earlier in life and later as well. Parts help us survive. They have done an excellent job protecting you, and as we get older we sometimes find that they get in the way. Parts can HEAL and change leading to a happier more meaningful life.
In my groups, we listen to these parts instead of silencing them. In IFS guided therapy, you’ll reconnect with your deeper, grounded self, and from here, change becomes possible.
In these extraordinary times, finding meaningful mental health support and real community is more difficult than ever, but also more necessary than ever.
