Group Therapy Online in California
We are living in extraordinary times, and we need each other now more than ever. You may know that the path forward requires connection, not isolation. And still, something gets in the way.
You may have been shaped by family or culture to believe you are too much, not enough, or that your needs are a burden. Asking for help may feel uncomfortable. Relying on others may feel risky.
You might notice these patterns showing up in your relationships, you want connection, but pull back, or overextend, or often find yourself feeling disappointed even resentful. You may act out trying to get your needs met and unintentionally hurt others and yourself. Research has shown that groups have unique additional healing elements, one simply being other people.
You have hit a point where what you have been doing isn’t working, and you are looking for some support. You are ready to meet the you that feels calm, confident, kind, patient and open.

How Group Therapy Helps
Group therapy is a place to practice. In these groups, you slow down, get curious, and begin to understand yourself in real time, in real relationships with others.
Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), we explore the parts of you that get in the way of connection, and begin to understand how those parts have been trying to protect you all along. From here, new ways of relating become possible.
In Online Group Therapy, We Explore
Grief • Recovery • Adoption • Gender & Identity • Parenting • Burnout • Life Transitions • Trauma
You’re Welcome Here. All Parts of you are Welcome Here.
If you’re ready for a deeper relationship with yourself and others, and a place to practice new ways of being in connection, you are welcome here.
Please get in touch to learn more and see if my groups are a good fit for you.
Group Therapy -
A Space to Practice
This is where Holding Spaces Collective comes in.
I’m Jessie Cohen, you can call me J. I am an LCSW, a trauma specialist, and an IFS Level 2 trained group therapist with two decades of clinical experience. I consider myself a student of relationships and a model to learn new ways of being in relationship with yourself. This is no small feat, and I have spent my life learning, unlearning, and practicing new ways of relating that I truly believe can transform your life. You can read more about me and my clinical approach here.
I offer small, intimate online group therapy spaces across California for people who want to create connection, let go of shame and try on new ways of being in relationship with yourself and others.

My Approach to Online Groups in California
My approach is grounded, curious, and relational.
In group, we move at your pace, making space for all of your parts to be heard, while moving at the speed of trust. We commit to the collective in group work, honoring pace and safety for all.
I bring both warmth and directness to this work, shaped by my lived experience and a deep commitment to relationships. At the core, I believe healing happens when you feel seen, supported, and connected to yourself and to others.
I love working in small groups because they offer a place to practice. Here, you can slow down, get curious, and begin to understand the parts of you that get in the way and how they’ve been trying to protect you all along.
